If you have ever asked yourself any of the following questions, you have come to the right place!
“Where on the Internet do I find trustworthy information about ancient Egypt?”
“Why did ancient Egyptians spend so much time and money preparing for their burial?”
“What was life like in ancient Egypt?”
“How the heck were hieroglyphs deciphered?”
“How can I start reading Egyptian hieroglyphs myself?”
I started Voices of Ancient Egypt to help people who are passionate about ancient Egypt find everything they want to know about this intriguing culture.

This is the community for you if you want to learn more about ancient Egypt, but don’t want to go back to college to do it. Ain’t nobody got time for that!
You want real, authentic information about what the ancient Egyptians actually wrote and did – without hyped-up actors or academic jargon. Just the facts, ma’am. And that’s what you’ll get here at Voices of Ancient Egypt.
I love ancient Egypt, and I had wanted to be an Egyptologist since I was little. While I took some detours along the way (can you believe I almost became an accountant?), I made my way back to my first true love and earned a Ph.D. in Egyptology.
But I have a confession to make. I’m a HUGE introvert and was terrified at the idea of teaching at first. But that all changed once I started, well, actually teaching. I fell in love with sharing my passion, knowledge, and resources for ancient Egypt! I was hooked and have been teaching ever since!
My top priorities: Egyptology, teaching, family, cats, and ice cream (not necessarily in that order)
In the classroom, I’ve taught people aged 8 to 80 and from all walks of life. One thing has united them all – they were intrigued by ancient Egypt and learned more about it than they ever thought possible.
Today, I still love sharing ancient Egypt through teaching. But I want to reach more people than I can by staying only in the classroom.
Inspired by some of the wonderful YouTube channels out there, I started creating videos about ancient Egypt. I thought: What better way to reach all of the Egypt nerds around the world? What better way to help people who hunger for more than you can get through books and documentaries?
And that, folks, is how a YouTube channel and website are born!
